September's Bellabox & addressing some public concerns

As usual, I received my sweet pink box of surprises from Bellabox's courier! It was delivered on a Saturday afternoon and I thought it is a good idea for people that are not home on weekdays!

I mentioned previously that I received a TGIF bellabox blogger event invitation in the box, surprise! :D September's theme is Out with the old... In with the new.

The usual stash of product brochures and vouchers! Thinking of going to this facial that's $18 only! (worth $198 usually)

& here's what I've got in my bellabox!

Vichy BI-WHITE MED Deep Corrective Whitening Lotion
L'Oréal Paris Dermo-Expertise White Perfect Laser Anti-Spot Brightening Essence
Origins Make A Difference™ Plus + Skin Rejuvenating Moisturizer
Rimmel – Exaggerate Automatic Eye Liner
Celmonze Premium Facial Ampoules

I know there were quite some unhappiness regarding bellaboxes, hence I'm addressing these issues from my perspective. (I'm not paid to do this ya! )

Firstly, many complained that the Rimmel products they received were manufactured in 2009 or 2010 as printed on the product, hence perceived by many to be expired or expiring soon. The bellabox team has checked with Rimmel and the reply on their facebook page was "The brand assured us of the quality and safe use of the products and that they are the same stock that is for sale in their retail stores." Other customers also went to check with Rimmel personally and Rimmel claimed that their product's shelf life is actually 5 years long and not our normal perception of 3 years.

Next, concerning the contents of the box.. I actually read off some sites complaining about Bellabox sending better bellaboxes to us bloggers compared to their normal customers; and many was dissatisfied with September's bellabox in general, putting the bloggers' bellabox issue aside.

Overall, I think this might actually be an issue about personal preferences instead -- how much we value each product in the box, and not how much the products are worth. I believe the final "value" of all the boxes with different contents in the same month should be somewhat comparable.

Read quite some ramblings online about the disparity between bloggers and normal subscribers. Regarding July's bellabox especially, I believe there was a general preference for SK-II's products but not all boxes contain the SK-II samples. I was lucky to receive SK-II samples in my box (I love their products!), and right below this paragraph is the contents of my July's box. Here's the link to all the July box items on Bellabox's site and I also googled for other people's Bellaboxes. It can be seen that I didn't receive all the better items despite being a blogger. Yes, I received SK-II samples, but there are people who received big sized Organix shampoo and conditioner samples, more Legere products such as BB cream/skincare, OPI nail care or even Shu Uemura's hair products! Overall its fair ya?

Regarding September's box, many people gave the feedback that they were disappointed with it.. To be fair, I feel that Bellabox did not under promise on their side, as it was stated on their side that subscribers will get 5 hand-picked and authentic products delivered to their door. I'm sure that everyone received the boxes on their doorstep and there are at least 5 items inside..Perhaps this might be due to Bellabox over delivering for the past few months, building higher expectations from their subscribers?

Everyone has to understand that when they signed up for their bellaboxes, they have already willingly subjected themselves to receiving unknown products that they might and might not like from bellabox. There's no one to blame when you don't like the products in this "gamble".

Furthermore, September's bellabox is worth much more than the $15/$20 that subscribers have paid for! Almost everyone received the ampoule that costed $19/vial. Also, the Rimmel products are full sized ones, ranging from $7.90-$17.90. Just these 2 products alone, you will get more than what you paid for already.

For myself, I also received products that I don't really favour in my September bellabox, but I'm not complaining, understanding that it was a "gamble". Also, I dare say I didn't get any "better" contents although mine is sponsored!

My favourite product would be the ampoule. Ampoules are supposedly concentrated goodness which are used during facial sessions at beauty centres.. I have yet to figure out how to use it but I'm sure it would be awesome for my skin!

I'm kind of sad that I didn't receive the perfume sample vial though, I saw reviews online that Wonderstuck by Taylor Swift is sweet~

Also, the eyeliner that I received was a pencil eyeliner in green, which is not going to be of much use to me :S

However, I still love my Bellabox along with the surprise element that it brings me! :)

Let's just hope that October's bellabox would be more to everyone's liking! It should be awesome since I have already peeked at their new partners during the TGIF blogger event!
