Milly's X Post Exam Pampering

When I was done with my stressful final exams, I looked like a zombie after those horrible weeks of sleepless nights and studying.. I decided that I should pamper myself a little since I am done with my exams!
I booked an appointment with Milly's (new) 4th outlet at Bugis Cube to doll up my peepers and nails.. Their new branch is even closer to my house than their other branches at Far East Plaza, yay lucky me!
Left the shop a happy girl! :)
If you don't know, Bugis Cube is located right opposite Bugis Junction (the side with a taxi stand) along North Bridge Road. Take note that they are not on the same side as Bugis+ and Bugis Street! It was pretty easy to get there..
Enter Bugis Cube from this entrance..
Take the escalator up..
And Milly's is just on the right side of the escalator, you won't miss them!

Originally, the appointment I booked was for eyelash extensions and pedicure only, as my fingernails were really short, weak and soft due to previous manicure experiences. I thought I'll do my manicure next month when my nails grow out and are healthier, but Corine introduced me to their nail strengthener and encouraged me to try it out!
So I had my manicure done that day too! Indeed, the nail strengthener worked wonders! My nails doesn't feel soft anymore, and the gelish manicure is holding on my nails really well even after 3 weeks. My previous gelish manicures (done by other nail salons) tend to peel in a week when my nails are really weak..
I opted for a simple floral design as my nails were short, I don't want them to look overcrowded if I do a more elaborate design.. See how sweet my nails look after Corine done her magic! Simple yet sweet..
I especially love the middle fingernail with the holographic disco balls!
I decided to stick with red, which is my favourite color for pedicure! I find red really cute and they go well with most footwear, even flip flops! Red toes will never go wrong, really :)
Before the color was applied, I also had a awesome pedicure consisting of a foot bath, scrub and lotion. I don't know why but being able to soak my feet in warm and nice smelling bath feels really very shiok.. Sorry, no photos of the pedicure process as my mani and pedi were being done at the same time, talk about efficiency over here at Milly's!
After my mani and pedi session, I also got my eyelashes done! I was shocked that there are so many type of lashes available!!! I always thought that there are only single strands and cluster... Opps!
Here are their self-manufactured black diamond cluster lashes! Super dark in color, yet curly and lightweight!
Milly's also carry 2 types of single strand lashes - crown mink and royal furlash! I've tried both before and the furlash is incredibly soft, while the crown mink lashes are slightly less soft (still soft compared to other shops ok) but hold curls better. If you have naturally curly lashes, you can go for fur lash.. And if you have straight lashes like me, then it will be better to do mink lash since they are more curly!
Since I have done my fair share of single strand lashes, You You suggested that I should give the black diamond cluster lashes a try and I said ok! I told her I want long and curly lashes, I'm a vainpot hehe..
Can you believe it? You you completed this piece of artwork in less than half an hour.. Amazing!! I experienced zero discomfort and zero tearing during the process.. This set of lashes is mad chio! As pretty as a set of falsies, I like!
Cluster lash stays in shape better and are much more curly, but please take note that they will feel a little heavier than single strand ones.. Please choose what you're comfortable with! I'll suggest newbies to start with single strand ones first so that you can get comfortable with the weight and having something on your eyelids..
Yay pretty eyes! My eyes look so much bigger and brighter with this set of extensions on, super love it hehe!
Here's a closer photo of my eyes.. Nice right?
Thank you Milly's for the love and making my eyes so pretty hehe! :)

MUFE X 5 reasons why we should use make up brushes

When I started experimenting with make up (without brushes), I often wondered..
Why do professionals use brushes?
Isn't it more costly to purchase brushes? Fingers are free!
Don't we have better control over our hands than over the brushes?
If you have such questions buzzing in your head, I'll answer them today! I've been experimenting with brushes in the past one year, so I guess I'm experienced enough to share a little about brushes? :)
1) Smooth Finish
Makeup brushes have an even and flat application area than our fingers so the application can be done more smoothly and evenly.
2) Precision
By using make up brushes, it allows us to reach narrow areas such as the corner of our eyes, which is definitely impossible for our fingers to do a good job.
3) Makeup Brushes are more Gentle
Sometimes applying make up with fingers would put too much pressure on face, stretching the facial muscles which might cause us to end up with more wrinkles. The gentle and soft fibers on make up brushes make it good for application with no extra pressure in stretching your facial muscles.
4) Save Money
Brushes will allow us to use minimal amount of our makeup, as our fingers actually swipe the makeup away instead of blending it sometimes.
5) Less mess!
I actually wash my hands after every step when I apply my makeup with my hands. Imagine brown eye shadow all over my cheeks if I don't wash my hands! (I usually do eye make before blusher) Having specific brushes for each step will cut down the mess for sure.
So what brushes to start with? Which brushes should we buy?
Christmas is just round the corner, and one of the holiday sets that MUFE have come up with is actually the Brush Set, retailing at S$110!! Note that it is limited edition and only available in this holiday season.. I guess this is a good set to get for people who are new to brushes too!
The Brush Set consists of a compact zippered pouch, as well as 4 essential pro brushes from MAKE UP FOR EVER’s new range, especially tailored for travel use (13 centimeters instead of 17) and exclusive to this collection.
Here's how the inside of the pouch looks like! There is still some space to store other things if you wish!
This set comprises of 1 blush brush, 1 concealer brush and 2 eye shadow brushes!
All of them work as well as the regular sized ones, just a little shorter for our convenience! :)
These little babies are a wonder to use, they pick up powder really well~
I've also done a review post on MUFE's artisan brushes some time ago here, you can check out my post for the reviews on these 5 brushes if you're thinking to get regular sized ones! :)

Bellabox - Insta-glam

Bellabox has been pretty awesome in recent months, I can't even decide which box I love more! And yes, same for November's Insta-glam bellabox! :)
Apart from being as awesome as ever, subscribers of November 2014's bellabox actually stand a chance to another limited edition bellabox worth $100.. How exciting is this?
This month's infocard is designed similar to an instagram post. There is a Snap & Win instagram competition, and the prize for this competition is no other than the $100 limited edition bellabox that I've mentioned above!!! Only 3 prizes to be won...
So basically when you get your November 2014's box, all you need to do to join this competition is to snap a photo of your favourite November product(s) and upload the photos onto instagram, facebook or twitter. Don't forget to hashtag #bellaboxasia so that the bellabox team can track your competition entry ya? I've joined this competition myself hehe, hope I can win it wahaha!
So, moving on to the samples in this month's box!
Myskinbar corrector gel - the crux is definitely my favourite out of the lot, because it is a pimple gel that actually works on me, it dries out the pimple area nicely and yet the formula doesn't mess with my foundation or makeup which is great. I think I will be getting the full sized one when I'm done with this cute little on-the-go tube!
Benefit Dream Screen is bound to be a hot favourite among everybody, since sunscreen is a must for everyone. Also, this incredibly lightweight formula is actually packed with a powerful SPF45 sun protection.
I'm sure all of us hopes to receive some makeup in our beauty boxes, apart from the usual skincare samples. This month, there are actually 2 makeup products, I was overjoyed!!!
Coastal Scents Revealed Palette - This cute little sampler palette is definitely a keeper! Comes in 2 matte and 2 metallic neutral shades which will work for anybody, yay!
Sleek Dip It Duo Liner Mascara in 24 Karat - Aha, a full sized makeup, multi-purpose somemore! Black mascara with 24 karat gold eyeliner, awesome much!!!
Jacqueline Burchell Crystal Nail File - To be honest, I don't groom my own nails regularly, but a crystal nail file is so much easier to use compared to the usual paper/cardboard-like ones!! Much more lasting and I can easily wash the dust away with water hehe..
Lastly, some bonus items!
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil - This is something that I've mentioned quite a few times already, a super useful product that we can use almost anywhere on our body!! More information about this dry oil here~
Cathy Doll Blink Blink Whitening Snow Mask - Heard lots of positive review about this whitening mask and I can't wait to try it out! Who doesn't want to be fairer right? Hehe...
See, I told you bellabox is good right? Enjoy your bellaboxes and remember to join the Snap & Win competition ok? Let's win the limited edition bellabox together hehe! :)

LUSH Christmas Party!

Yay the year is coming to an end soon, and that means christmas and new year are coming soon..  Was invited to LUSH Christmas party a couple of weeks ago, and it was a night of fun and sweet scents. Also, my cupboard at home has a very nice smell ever since I brought home some LUSH products that day hehe! :D
Sometimes, I will wander into LUSH stores to enjoy the nice scents, but I’m actually new to LUSH products. I was amazed to know that their products are handmade, no wonder each of the bath bombs always looked a little different to me hehe..
Oh, this is their Suntec City branch by the way!

Anyway, here is most of their 2014 Christmas collection! We were introduced to their x’mas items during this party, and there are a few really cute ones that I super love, such as the christmas penguin bubble bath as well as the snowman fun! Sharing some of my favourites from this collection below..
(Psst, I can’t wait to use my bath bombs from LUSH during my staycation this weekend hehe, soaking in nice smelling bath water sounds so shiok right?)
The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar ($11.90)
Pick up The Christmas Penguin for a mood-boosting bubble bath that will set you up for the festivities. The beautiful blend of Orange Flower Absolute and Sicilian Mandarin and Lemon Oils revive and refresh. Crumble under running water to create bubbly glaciers and snow drifts. This bubble bar was inspired by the smallest penguins in the world, which are blue and from Philip Island in Australia.
Celebrate hand and body lotion
Celebrate the festive season with this beautiful unpreserved hand and body lotion. Rich and wonderfully emollient, the Cocoa Butter and Almond Oil will replenish and moisturise your skin, while the intoxicating cocktail inspired fragrance uplifts your spirits. Brazillian Orange Oil and Lime Oil tones the skin and lifts you out of the winter party mood.
Magic Wand Bubble Bar ($18)
Fairy princesses and princes of all ages will love this re-usable bubble bar that lasts for up to ten bubble baths. Swish it around in the water for a softening, vanilla scented soak and a mound of candy bubbles. Then pop it on the side for use another time, just like magic!
NEW Drummers Drumming Bubble Bar ($18)
Drum up some energy with our first musical bubble bar! Made with refreshing and uplifting Bergamot, Geranium and Olibanum Oil with the sweet smell of fresh strawberries. This hits the right note with lovers of the popular Yummy Yummy Yummy fragrance.
Candy Mountain Bubble Bar ($9.50)
Make bath time a little sweeter with this pink peak of a bubble bar. Crumble under running water for mountains of glistening bubbles topped with a magical pink mist. The candy scent wafting through the steam includes Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute, wrapping you in a comforting embrace. If you like the fragrance of our Rock Star soap and Creamy Candy bubble bar, you’re in for a treat.
Snow Fairy Sparkle Bar
Snow Fairy fragranced sparkle in a bar! With a soft heart full of moiturising butters, oils and shimmering silver lustre to leave you smelling candy sweet and ready for your party dress. Smooth this bar over your arms and shoulders for soft shimmering skin that catches the light as you flutter.
Snow Fairy Shower Gel ($14)
A festive favourite and cause for celebration, Snow Fairy is back with the same sweet, magical scent of soothing comforting Vanilla. This year her sparkle is suspended, thanks to Carrageenan Extract, so it distributes evenly through the product.
Dashing Santa ($10.50)
His fast, fizzing golden boots will have him dashing around your bath filling it with citrus essential oils and the scent of satsumas this Christmas. Toning Mandarin, Bergamot and Orange Flower to boot will leave you feeling cheerful and uplifted.
Other than introducing us to the christmas collection, there was also a soap making session with the snowman fun (omg I really loved this!), photobooth as well as some light refreshments..
Snowman FUN ($18)
For those who were captivated by the Disney film Frozen – ‘Do you want to build a snowman?’- well now you can, complete with scarves and hats! The black coloured FUN is made from carbon black coal, to give your snowman real coal eyes! Scented with the Carrot Soap fragrance we had in our Easter range making you feel seasonal all round, the bar also contains Sicilian Lemon oil and Bergamot Oil giving your bath a fresh and invigorating feel.

Each of us had a go at making out own snowmans at the party with this Snowman Fun. This was my favourite part of the whole party hehe! So basically, we can mould this in any shape that we like (snowman recommended) and after that, everything can be used as shampoo, body wash and bubble bath. How cool is this?! I love love love the scent of this snowman fun the most, my whole cupboard smells like the snowman fun now hehehe, can they please sell this scent as a perfume or air freshener?
Anyway, I made 2 snowmans and 1 awkward penguin out of my snowman fun pack! Love my snowmans and penguin hehehe.. Cute right? Oh, and I do recommend you to do this at home, and if you don’t intend to use them immediately, please store in ziplock bags at cool areas ya? My snowman melted a little after some time at home haha~
With my cuties! :D

And polaroid photobooth with my two friends that I brought along – Katelyn and Theresa! We all had so much fun hehe! :D

Our polaroids and these are everything that we made that night – snowmans plus a penguin!

Thank you LUSH for the invitation to your Christmas party once again, we had so much fun! Can’t wait to use the bath bomb tomorrow! :)
