MUFE Artisan Brushes

I'm sure you all have heard about Make Up For Ever, I've blogged about their HD makeup as well as Aqua collection some time ago..

Recently, they have launched a whole collection of make up brushes, hand-crafted by brush artisans. There are a total of 75 signature designs and they are made of 100% engineered fibers.

I know, people usually go for brushes made with natural hair, but engineered fibres can deliver a more precise and consistent make-results, not forgetting animal welfare. Isn't this better?

More facts about these artisan brushes!

  • 75 customized brush designs by Dany & make-up artists

  • 100% engineered fibers for skin comfort

  • Ultra-resistant & humidity-proof base

  • Environmentally friendly brush handle made from eco-certified wood

  • 2-in-1 accessory with a unique bevelled tip to collect, mix and adjust make-up textures

Here are the brushes that I've received - 106, 152, 274, 304 and 230! I'll talk about them individually later!

They came with a brush casing which is pretty cool!

It can be used as a stand when opened and flipped out!

And a closer look..

106 Foundation Brush - medium

  • For ultra-fast use over the whole face.

  • Type of fibers: STRAIGHT.

  • Description: Medium flat and rounded brush.

  • Use: Use to apply and blend all kinds of foundation for an even result.

  • Pro Tip: Essential brush for professional make-up artists who, at shows, have to do many models’ makeup in a short period of time. Its size and shape are used for large and quick application of foundation and blush.

  • Recommended Textures: Cream and liquid foundations, loose and compact powders.

  • Key producTs: HD Foundation, Face & Body Foundation.

This is my first ever foundation brush!! To be honest, I find that the brush is pretty small compared to my big face, and I take more time applying foundation with this brush. Okay, I guess we'll have to consider the fact that I'm not used to applying foundation with a brush.. Anyway, I must admit that using a brush saves lots of product!

Definitely not my first eye shadow brush, but I guess this is the best eye shadow brush in my collection for now! It can pick up lots of product easily, and it is pretty gentle on my skin!

[My review might be kind of unfair for this brush] This dual ended brush will be a good buy for a professional, but I guess it will not be that useful for "commoners" like me. I usually use eyebrow pencil and eye brow mascara, so I have no use for one end since I don't use powder to do my brows, for now. As for the mascara brush end, it is indeed useful for combing out clumps, but it won't be much of an essential since most of my mascaras don't clump.

152 Highlighter Brush - medium

  • This supple, rounded brush is a delicate basic tool to apply highlighting powders and creams more generously.

  • Type of fibers: WAVY.

  • Description: Medium rounded and dense brush.

  • Use: Use to easily and delicately highlight the face and body. Its shape and soft fibers offer generous product collection for moderate to high payoff.

  • Pro Tip: In artistic make-up, its very rounded shape and the flexibility of its fibers are used to blend Wet Make-Up for an even, flawless result without streaking. Its shape is also used to create rounded patterns easily and quickly.

  • Recommended Textures: Cream, gel, loose and compact powders.

  • Key producTs: Mat Bronze, Compact Shine On.

Yay this is my favourite brush out of the 5 reviewed in this blog post.. It is super duper soft with a rounded edge! I noticed that it is more for highlighting, but I love it as a blusher brush! It picks up powder and cream blush pretty well, and application is a breeze too. It somehow blends my blusher very naturally into my face make up. Now I have a perfect brush to use my HD cream brush!

304 Lip brush with cap

  • A retractable lip brush that is ultra practical and clean, to slip into your make-up kit for daily touchups.

  • The brush also can be used for concealer touch-ups because Dany loves ingenious multipurpose tools.

  • Type of fibers: STRAIGHT.

  • Description: Rounded, dense brush with cap.

  • Use: Its density is used to apply any lip product quickly, as well as blending pencils and lipsticks. Putting the long cap at the end of the brush handle lengthens the brush size for better handling. Pouch friendly. Its cap protects fibers for hygienic application.

  • Pro Tip: Professional make-up artists concerned about the hygiene of their work tools also use this lip brush to apply concealers and other products used near the eyes.

  • Recommended Textures: Lipstick and gloss.

  • Key products: Rouge Artist, Lab Shine.

This is also my first ever lip brush.. This is really good for applying lipstick, and super useful to achieve ombre lips. I personally find that applying lipstick onto my lips directly from the tube/crayon always end up too thick on my lips, so I definitely prefer applying bit by bit with a lip brush. Saves my lipstick too hehe!
