BF's Birthday Staycation at Pan Pacific Singapore!

If you have been following me on instagram, you would have seen updates of my staycation experience with the BF at the 5-star luxury hotel - Pan Pacific Singapore - in December.. Because it was his birthday!! It was really awesome and I was pretty sure that this might be the best ever staycation I will ever have in my life!! :')
Quite a number of friends have already asked us about our staycation experience before I even blog about it, and here are more details for those who wants to know more. I'll strongly recommend Pan Pacific Singapore with all my heart; awesome infrastructure, spacious and well-decorated rooms, impeccable service, lots of facilities as well as good food. You can consider doing a birthday celebration with your loved ones, or maybe even a proposal party? Hehe, just a suggestion..
Pan Pacific Singapore is an award-winning luxury hotel that is conveniently located at the heart of the city. It is surrounded by 3 shopping malls - Marina Square, Suntec City and Millenia Walk; and a stone's throw away from local tourist attraction such as Singapore Flyer, Esplanade, Marina Bay Sans and Gardens by the Bay. The 25 year old hotel has just undergone a whopping $80 million transformation in 2012, fully transforming their lobby, guest rooms as well as new and refreshed dining concepts.
There are quite a number of different room types at Pan Pacific Singapore, and we stayed in the Pacific Harbour Studio room at the 34th floor, which also makes us entitled to the Pacific Club privileges! Pacific Club is for guests who are staying in the "higher end" rooms, and the privileges is really really exclusive and SHIOK! (Okay, I'll elaborate more later hehe.)
Being guests of the Pacific Club, we were entitled to priority check-in. We were ushered to our rooms by their super friendly and professional staff, and our check-in was done in the room itself! We don't have to queue or wait at the hotel lobby for our check-in, and we don't even have to find our way to our own room.
And look at the spread prepared for us in our room!! A customised blackforest cake with BF's name on it, champagne, fruits, cookies, chocolates and Evian (my favourite) mineral water.. (Sidenote: We opened one of the bottles of Evian before going for a swim, when we came back to our room, there was a third bottle of Evian waiting for us. I'm amazed at how attentive they are to their guests!!)
Happy birthday boy with his first surprise! :)
Going on, here is a tour of our huge room!
A super spacious walk in closet.
Separate cubicles for the shower and toilet.
Toiletries provided at the shower area.
There are 2 types of shower - sky shower and the other one for massaging!
The sky shower is super shiok, I told the BF that I want this in my future home haha..
Here's the super spacious open concept toilet area. Don't worry, there are sliding walls so you can still have some privacy if you want to.
Time for mirror selfie!
Huge mirror with two basins..
The toiletries that were provided, and yes, 2 sets! Basically, you only have to bring your own facial cleanser (and maybe makeup remover). They even have mouthwash, facial mist (spray) and tiger balm prepared for their guests, these are not usually provided at other hotels.
And before I forget...
The bathtub is huge!
It is very spacious, even for two!
Moving on, there is this work area with a long sofa, desk, Herman Miller desk chair and a TV.
The huge and fluffy king sized bed which the BF collapsed on immediately haha..
Just look at the smile on his face, haha!
And yes, another TV right in front of our bed!
BF looking at the TV as I snapped photos of the room! Also, not to forget, there is this huge private balcony (in the background of the picture) with a great view that overlooks all our major local attractions in the city area. Took photos of the scenary at night, photos later!
After our check-in, we headed down to the Edge for our lunch! A Long Long Lunch ($48++) is actually a 4 hour lunch and tea buffet that features well-known local food and hawker favourites.
The buffet spread was really MASSIVE and it was really crazy! Our tummies were exploding after 2 hours of feasting, and I think I was only able to try less half of the spread? I remember trying to do an instagram video on the buffet spread that day but I only managed to capture a small fraction of the spread in the 15 seconds video clip. Nevermind, more photos of the food below.. You can see that there were lots of chefs in the buffet area itself, meaning all the food are prepared fresh on the spot! Everything was quite yummy, but what I love most from the buffet would be the har gao (prawn dumpling), satay, teh tarik, durian mousse cake and durian pengat! :)
Thai food section..
Teh Tarik Station with live demo!
Japanese food station..
Lots of local food~
Pasta station..
Chefs preparing popiah right in front of our eyes!
Christmas ham!
Rojak station!
Ahhh my favourite from the whole buffet, I can't remember how many har gaos I had that day, opps!
Their super yums satay which kept running out because everyone loves it I guess..
Some food that was prepared upon ordering - Carbonara, Laksa, Char Kway Teow and Prawn noodles..
Oh, and the desset buffet spread was MASSIVE! They have local desserts to durian desserts to waffle station on top of the usual dessert spread you will expect from a buffet..
A life-sized gingerbread house, and we were told that this can really be eaten omg!!
After lunch, we lazed around in our room for a while before heading down for a swim!
The BF always love to go to the pool during staycations, so we headed to the pool at the 4th level! Guess what, there are underwater speakers in the pool, so we can actually enjoy some music when swimming..
The BF went straight into the pool while I lazed at the poolside first. Just FYI, there are towels, lockers, mineral water and even toiletries provided here!
We were pretty famished after our swim (okay, soaking for me) and the BF decided that he wanted to have his birthday meal at Keyaki, which is a Japanese restaurant located at level 4 of Pan Pacific Singapore. It was a really good choice as the food was super good!!!
We had S$100 hotel credit (due to the package then) to spend that day plus hotel guests are entitled to 20% off at the hotel's restaurants. So... We ended up paying absolutely nothing for our yummy meal at Keyaki!!! I think we could have ordered one more dish without having to pay still, if I didn't do my calculations wrongly..
Here's our yummy spread! The waiter was really polite and even offered to separate our garlic fried rice into two bowls for us because he noticed that we only ordered one serving of rice. Thumbs up for the attentiveness and service!
Yakimono teriyaki cod that is really godly, can I have 3 more plates of this?!?!?! We both agreed that this is the best dish in the whole meal!
Tempura sakura shrimp that is not on the menu, introduced by the super helpful waiter.
Teppanyaki chicken..
It was pretty late after dinner, we did some shopping at Suntec City and went back to rest in our room. Here's the view from the glass lifts!
And as promised earlier, the night view from our balcony! This is the Singapore flyer..
Magnificent right? I posted this photo on instagram and I'm sure I made many people jealous hehe!
We ended the night with some champagne and bubble bath (bubble bath c/o LUSH) as well as catching part of a movie on the TV (remember the toilet is open-concept with sliding doors) from the bath tub. Best way to spend the night seriously! :)
The king sized bed is also super comfy and we had a good night of sleep! Couldn't bear to leave the bed the next morning, but we dragged ourselves out as we planned to check out 2 different types of breakfast at the hotel!
Buffet breakfast at the Edge, the spread is pretty huge, and there are omelette stations where we can customise our omelettes to our liking. And I spotted my favourite har gao, yay!!! Definitely a good buffet breakfast.
Being greedy, we had to check out the Champagne Breakfast at Pacific Club too!
Pacific Club is located at the topmost level of the hotel, offering a 360 degree view of the the city skyline. Our room type - Pacific Habour Studio - comes with pacific club privileges, we are lucky to have round-the-clock access to the Pacific Club and entitled to complementary refreshments and cocktails. Some benefits will be champagne breakfast, afternoon tea, sunset cocktails and canapes, late check out, in-room dining breakfast and more~
We were busy with our lunch, swim and dinner on the first day so we missed the afternoon tea and sunset cocktails. So it is a must for us to check out their champagne breakfast!
The place was pretty cosy with a good view of the city, quite a different environment from the busy buffet area downstairs!
Here's the mini breakfast spead..
I had honey on my toast with pink guava juice, and BF had sausages with chamomile tea.
Next, we spotted this!! Eggs done in our way, and we ordered one type each!
The boy picked poached eggs and I picked truffle scrambled eggs, both were really good!! The eggs also come with roasted tomato, potatoes and toast. We finished our eggs, albeit being full from eating so much before that.
After breakfast, we went back to our room to rest before checking out! Last photo of us in our beloved room~~
Thank you Pan Pacific Singapore for this incredible staycation experience! We loved every bit of it, and we'll definitely be back again! ♥♥♥
