Saturdate + PS Cafe + Milly's

I seldom blog about my life now, so here's "diary" post about last Saturday, since last Saturday was pretty well spent with my BF! :)
I started my weekend with a visit to Milly's Bugis Cube for my monthly beauty affair! Got a new set of eyelash extensions done, as well as a new set of nails..
As usual, I did my eyelash extensions with You You. I decided to do fur lash extensions 8/10mm that day, fur lash has got to be my favourite since they are really soft and mega lightweight! 8/10mm is the normal length most people will opt for, and it is the longest I can go without my lashes hitting my spectacles. On months that I have major events, I will go for 10/12mm sets instead.
After I did my lashes, it is time to do my nails..Xiao Man did my nails for me that day! I am recently into japanese and light color designs, (and I am really picky,) so we kind of created a new design altogether with reference from some designs online. I'm sooo in love with the crystal ribbon charm! It is super sparkly, and I think it really look like a ring design from jewellery shops hehe. Here's my white and bling nails! (Taken at P.S Cafe during dinner)
Anyway, just for your info, Milly's $20 single color gelish manicure promotion is back! Some of my friends have been waiting for this promotion to come back... Do visit them if you wanna get some nails done, $20 is really a good deal and you get quality work done on your nails.
BF came to fetch me after I did my nails, we went to do some stuffs and had blackball for tea since we are in the Bugis area. Yummy yummy blackball!
Travelled to town thereafter as we wanted to go to Shaw Lido for a movie at night. Since it was pretty early, we went shopping at Orchard and B found new shoes for himself! I'm happy since he seldom shop for himself~
Decided to go to PS. Cafe for early dinner, it has been on my "To-Go List" for the longest time ever! My friend was all-praises for their truffle fries, I also wanna try haha.. Took a 10mins walk to Palais Renaissance from ion orchard, P.S Cafe is at then second level btw.
We didn't want to queue for indoor seats so we sat outside, the outside looks nice and there is natural sunlight which is good for photos hehe! We were too early for dinner, and they only have selected mains available during their tea-time. Luckily the choices available sounds pretty good still.
The waiting time was pretty okay, not too slow and not too fast.
Both of us was super excited to try out our food!!!
Mandatory shot of all the food before we dig in! We have a habit of sharing our food, so we will usually order 2 dishes and share both of them.. :)

PS. Chicken In The Basket

We loved this, and the portion was huge! These breaded chicken tenders were fresh and juicy (chicken tenders at other eateries sometimes turn out pretty dry FYI). We changed the fries to truffle fries with a $5 top up, since their ala carte truffle fries looks humongous (I think it is more than enough for a table of 8 or more) and we definitely cannot finish it if we order another dish to share. To be honest, we could only taste the cheese and salt instead of the truffle oil most of the time, but it was still darn good nevertheless! This dish also came with 2 sauces - kaffir lime aioli and chilli & tamarind dip, I liked the aioli sauce and BF liked the latter, so I would say both are good on the whole.
He can't wait to eat but I kept taking photos haha!

Spicy King Prawn Aglio Olio

I requested them to cook this dish without chilli, as I can't really take spicy food. This dish came topped with toasted sesame breadcrumbs which was quite nice, I love crispy stuffs!! They were generous with the big fat prawns, I think there were 5 or 6 in total! However, I do find this dish pretty dry for a pasta, I'm not sure if the breadcrumbs absorbed the moisture when I mixed everything together or is it due to other reasons? Also, I felt that the dish tasted too bitter, which means that the garlic is overcooked. This dish is not too bad on the whole, but I had really high expectations for PS Cafe so the bitter garlic part was kind of disappointing since I believe cooking garlic is a basic must-know for aglio olio.
I'm a pasta monster :D
Total damage for this meal was $70+, we ordered 2 mains and no drinks. The price is on the high side, but the generous portions definitely made up for the price. It was a good experience on the whole, pampering ourselves with a good meal at a nice cafe. And I can finally strike this off my to-go list haha! I want to try their crab cakes during my next visit~
Ended our happy Saturdate with "Cinderella" movie at Shaw..
I love weekends with my boy! ♥♥♥

Consultation at Halley Medical Aesthetics

Do you ever have any thoughts about improving your facial features? Just by a teeny bit?
"If only my nose is a little higher..."
"If only my face can be smaller...."
"If only I can have a full and round forehead like the koreans..."
"If only I can look good with little or even no make up..."
I have them all the time, and I decided to get some minor corrections done to my face at Halley Medical Aesthetics!
No no, I'm not going under the knife, so no worries.
I am still not mentally prepared for plastic surgery, so I believe fillers and botox will do a good job for now. Non-invasive, safer, cheaper and reversible if we don't like the final look; there's is no reason not to try them if you wanna look better! (I did fillers and botox 2 years ago, and I love the results then!!)
At Halley Medical Aesthetics the other day, I was waiting for my turn hence I decided to take a "Before" photo of my side profile for my own record hehe..
My consultation was with Dr Terence Tan, he asked me about my concerns and analyzed my face (and features). Then, he suggested to me the areas where he think can be improved on, and also briefed me on how he is going to carry out the procedure during my next appointment.
He's introducing his magic needle to me in the photo below, if you want to know what the magic needle can do, look out for my next blog post ok? ;)
Here's what Dr Tan suggested me to do:
  • nose fillers for a high nose bridge
  • forehead fillers for a bigger and round forehead (just like the koreans hehe!!!)
  • chin fillers for a sharper looking face
  • undereye/ tear trough fillers to make my face look less sunken
  • botox for jaw slimming
There are lots of room for improvement on my face (boohoo), and yes I decided to do them all. Can't wait to look better after all the treatments, stay tuned for more information and photos about my "Korean Facelift"!! :)

My Beauty Diary Black Obsidian Moisturizing Black Mask Review

Remember My Beauty Diary masks? It is one of the first few brands that I got to know of years ago when Taiwan beauty products were the rage in Singapore! I've been using MBD masks and alternating it with a few other popular Taiwan and Korean brands since years ago. MBD is definitely one of my top favourites when it comes to masks!
My Beauty Diary, the No.1 Facial & Eye Mask brand in Singapore has just gotten even better! With its improved formula, features and packaging, the enhanced mask range now features a uniquely patented ingredient - Cosphingo™ with long-lasting moisturizing property for improved hydration, enabling the skin to feel soft and supple like baby’s skin! Made of high-quality fine and smooth cotton fibres from Japan, this cotton sheet mask feels extremely gentle on the skin, and its exceptional absorption ability allows the essences from the mask to be thoroughly absorbed by the skin, enhancing its skin care benefits. Free of harmful paraben preservatives, alcohol, mineral oil, pigments and fluorescent agents, these masks are safe for use on all skin types including sensitive skin.
My Beauty Diary has recently launched its NEW Black Mask range featuring three exquisite variants - Black Obsidian Moisturizing, Black Rose Brightening and Black Pearl Total Effect Black Masks. Utilizing mystical black ingredients to help eliminate skin pigmentation, unevenness and loose skin caused by UV rays and environmental impurities, the deluxe Black Mask series helps to restore uneven skin tone, enhance skin elasticity, leaving your skin rejuvenated, deeply moisturized with dewy radiance!
I was really excited when I received this Black Obsidian Moisturizing Black Mask to review! Tried another brand's black mask in the past and I liked it, so I have a good impression of black masks in general hehe.

Suitable for normal skin types & especially recommended for skin requiring intense hydration and illumination. Rich in trace elements and minerals that restores healthy skin, French Black Obsidian helps support the skin’s protective mechanism and enhances the skin’s hydrating power. The infusion of Laminaria digitata and sugar maple delivers intense hydration to the deep layers of skin to improve dry skin texture, revealing renewed and brighter skin. Enriched with numerous soothing ingredients like Calendula officinalis, Licorice, and Ruscus aculeatus extracts to relieve dry, rough and irritated skin, the mask is also rich in Bladder wrack seaweed, Aloe vera, and hydrolyzed Jojoba for improved hydration, allowing the skin to feel optimally nourished, revitalized with glowing luminosity!
Here are two special features of the masks...
  1. 3D Hyaluronic acid and Yeast Compound : The unique structure of the 3D Hyaluronic acid forms a protective film over the skin to replenish and retain moisture, preventing dehydration and allowing skin to stay deeply hydrated. Yeast compound helps tighten and regulate skin tone, and effectively soothes fatigue skin in just 15-20 minutes to reveal a glowing, youthful and velvety smooth complexion.
  2. Conforming Black Sheet Mask Material : With refined tailoring and texture characteristics, theblack sheet mask material provides the perfect fit that conforms not only to your facial contours, but also your neck area, offering optimal adherence and comfort fit you deserve. Infused with essential essences to deliver instant nourishment to your skin, this mask simultaneously eliminates impurities in the pores, yielding porcelain, shine-free and silky smooth skin!

My review:

The mask is packed full of beauty goodness and doesn't dry up easily. The essence was easily absorbed by my skin and my skin feels matte and powdery after removing the mask, just like my other MBD masks. This is awesome since I hate stickiness! The mask didn't even dry up even when I leave it on the table overnight after using, it is still wet in the morning. Also, the new cotton material feels more fitting and comfy than the usual masks.
It was a little difficult to unfold initially because it is super smooth and silky. I kept searching for the ear hooks (the 3d masks I used previously has double ear hooks) and I was quite skeptical about the mask when I realised that it doesn't come with any ear hooks. To my surprise, the mask stayed on my face really well even when I was sitting up the whole time, no need for ear hooks at all!
My Beauty Diary's Black Mask Series is retailing at Guardian, Sasa and Watsons at $16.90 for a box of 5 pieces. You can also get them online at

My Digital Skin Doctor - The Face Inc

I believe that most of us have some form of skin concern, and so do I. I have been fighting those annoying pimples for quite a number of years now, urgghhh. Apart from my pimple problem, I also have dull skin. Whenever I hear about a good product, I'll be more than happy to give it a try in hope that my complexion will become better.. How I wish I can have flawless and glowy skin like those K-pop idols!!
I was recently invited by The Face Inc to do a skin analysis with Dr Rei and to try out a prescribed skincare regime from their range of products. Their products look really promising and I am really excited to try them out!
The Face Inc products have a distinctively higher concentration of active ingredients versus other products in the market, making them comparable to products prescribed by skin doctors. Also, they promise to deliver prompt results for our prevailing skin conditions such as acne and blemishes, pigmentation and scars, fine lines and wrinkles.
Dr Rei is actually the first ever digital skin doctor that can analyse an individual’s skin condition and needs through a structured online platform. You can get your skin analysis done anywhere and anytime, with your computer or even mobile phone. The whole process is fuss free and I really like their online concept! :)
Have you ever went to the dermatologist?
With Dr Rei, you can save yourself from the awkwardness during the face-to-face consultation where you have to share your deepest concerns (regarding your skin) with a stranger you just met seconds ago.
Worrying about the price?
Guess what, the skin analysis is FREE OF CHARGE. You don't have to pay any consultation fee, unlike when you visit a dermatologist. This amount saved could easily cover the price of your facial cleanser! So why not?
I conveniently did the skin analysis on my phone before going to bed that night.... I think I was done in about 2 minutes actually? My 2 main concerns would be acne as well as dull skin.
I got my prescription on the spot! The prescription contains all the products that are suitable for our skin, and of course, it is up to us if we want to purchase the full set or just a couple of the recommended products. (Went to screenshot my prescription on the computer just so that you can have a better look.)
I was expecting to receive the skincare products in maybe a week, and I was really surprised that the products actually reached my doorstep in less than 24 hours. Their efficiency is really commendable! I'm soooo excited to start on my new skincare regime from The Face Inc!!!
Stay tuned for my review on their skincare products!
Go and try to get your skin analysis done with Dr Rei, it is FREE anyway! ;)
