Review: Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover (new)

Heard of the Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover? It is recently reformulated and has improved product benefits! I did not try the older version before, so this is my first time trying this aqua jelly remover. Read my verdict on this product!

The new Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover, with its revolutionary jelly-like texture, comes in an even smoother, lighter consistency but with the same high cleansing ability that effortlessly dissolves and lifts off more makeup in a gentle glide. This is suitable for all skin types.

Improved Product Benefits:
  • Smoother jelly-like texture is gentle on skin and rinses of easily and quickly without any harsh tugging or pulling action on skin.
  • High cleansing ability dissolves and lifts of all traces of makeup efortlessly.
  • Made with 40% more moisturising essence nourishes and hydrates skin for a dewy moisturised finish.
  • Lightweight formula leaves skin feeling refreshed, with no sticky or greasy after-feel.
The texture of the aqua jelly is slightly thicker than water, but still very fluid as seen from this photo below. It smells really good too.

Usage Directions:
  1. Pump an appropriate amount (2-3 pumps) onto hands and spread evenly over face and eye area.
  2. Massage gently to dissolve makeup.
  3. Rinse thoroughly with water. It is not necessary to remove cleansing liquid with cotton pad or tissue.
  4. For best results, apply on dry face and hands. Do not use facial cotton pad or tissue.
I tried it on my hand with K-palette black eyeliner as well as sasa cybercolors lippie, and here's the result!

I used a generous amount of aqua jelly and rubbed continuously for about a minute, but it seems like only about 80% of the eyeliner was dissolved as I can still see the circle clearly. My eyeliner is easily removed by rubbing with tap water usually. Most of the lipstick was removed though.
My verdict: The aqua jelly is gentle on my skin and did not cause any redness. It smells nice too. However, this remover is unable to remove thick makeup, I will only recommend it for light makeup.
The new Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover is retailing at S$24.90/230ml at all leading supermarkets, personal care stores and western pharmacies & departmental stores from April 2015.
