Here is a short short itenary for your reference, but I suggest you just follow it and not waste your brain cells hehe. :P Firstly, special thanks to my sister who planned our itenary for us. The planning was done very well and we were able to visit quite a number of places in our short 5 days! We only tweaked the itenary a little while on the trip. Went for a short Bangkok trip in June with the BF as our budget "graduation" trip, we plan to go on a better trip after working and saving up more money. ETUDE HOUSE Wonder Pore Range Review

Who has big and clogged pores? *raises my hand*
There are millions of pores on our face. So, to ensure good complexion, pore health is very important! The cleaner the pores, the smaller the pores, the better your complexion.
Also, do you know that our pore size increases in hot weather? And to our pores' demise, Singapore is hot all year round. This translates to people having larger pores, oh man..........
Today, I'm introducing ETUDE HOUSE's Wonder Pore range, with an improved formula! Rest assured that you will be in good hands now ;)
Mint VinegarTM and Anti Pore-Dex Complex are the key ingredients in their ultimate pore minimizing concoction. The duo combination not only removes Dermodex, which are tiny parasite mites that live near or in hair follicles of mammals (eeeks!), but also prevents their future growth! Furthermore, the new formula will be able to balance our skin's pH levels, control sebum output, and remove dead skin cells so that we can have pores that are clean on the inside and tight on the outside. Research has also shown that the number of dermodex in the pores of women aged around 28 years old have been drastically reduced by 57% and 69% in 4 weeks and 8 weeks respectively.
I started my quest for a perfect and clear complexion with the new ETUDE HOUSE Wonder Pore range as I don't want my complexion to be at the mercy of the weather anymore. The Wonder Pore range sounds very promising, being able to control sebum without drying out our skin, apart from minimizing pores, which is exactly what I needed. Furthermore, this range is dermatologist tested, so I feel at ease when trying them out.
Here are more details about each of the six products in the range as well as my take on them after trying out for a couple of weeks! And yes, please use them in the order below:

 Wonder Pore Deep Foaming Cleanser

I expected this cleanser to be very harsh and drying since it is meant to minimize pores and control sebum, but no, it isn't! It foams easily with water to create creamy texture that is very gentle on my skin. This cleanser contains mint beads (mint + eucalyptus particles) that deeply cleanse pores and dead skin cells, giving a very slight minty feeling on my skin which I love! Skin feels very clean, fresh and hydrated after using this foaming cleanser.

Wonder Pore Freshner

The Wonder Pore Freshner (no spelling error!) is actually the most popular product out of the whole Wonder Pore range. It is actually a toner that contains a unique blend of Mint Vinegar and Anti Pore-Dex Complex. It boasts to provide 10 skincare benefits as follow:
  • Removes leftover makeup
  • Lightly acidifies skin to optimal pH 5.5 level
  • Controls sebum
  • Minimises pores
  • Treats uneven skin tone
  • Maintains skin elasticity
  • Hydrates skin
  • Smoothens skin texture
  • Gets rid of impurities and dead skin cells
  • Refreshes and cools the skin
I use this toner with a cotton pad, and wipe it all over my face. It is almost fragrance free and my face feels very clean after using this.

Wonder Pore Deep Tightening Essence

Following their Wonder Pore Freshner, the third step would be Wonder Pore Tightening Essence. This essence contains Mint VinegarTM and Anti-Pore Dex Complex which contracts pores immediately and maintains pH levels for fresh and clean skin all day long. It gets absorbed by my skin easily and it is a pleasure to use on my face.

Wonder Pore Clearing Emulsion

The lightweight Wonder Pore Clearing Emulsion has a water based formula, and it also contains their signature Mint VinegarTM and Anti Pore-Dex complex to create naturally flawless skin from the inside out. Similar to the essence, it restores our skin’s surface pH levels, keeping it refreshed. The texture is a wee bit thicker than the essence, but absorbs as easily upon application.

Wonder Pore Balancing Cream

Here is the last step of my Wonder Pore daily regime - Wonder Pore Balancing Cream! This moisturiser has a gel-like texture and is pretty lightweight; despite being able to ensure that our skin is kept hydrated and supple while our pores contract. It also works to restore the oil-moisture balance within the skin, and this will control the sebum that our pores excrete. I love this moisturiser as it makes my skin very hydrated and plumped up. Most importantly, it does not feel sticky at all! Also, it has a nice aqua scent that I like hehe.

Wonder Pore Black Mask Sheet

The Wonder Pore range also comes with a Wonder Pore Black Mask Sheet to let us pamper our skin once in a while. This new mask sheet contains bijangtan, which is a high grade of charcoal. Charcoal is known to have excellent cleansing and nourishing properties on the skin, and is effective in controlling sebum secretion. The mask sheet is treated at temperatures of over 1000°C for 25 days to fully optimize the benefits of this excellent pore care ingredient. The mask is to be used after the cleansing and toning step for about 15 minutes, and upon removal of the mask sheet, gently pat your skin to let the excess serum be absorbed.

My Review

So after trying the ETUDE HOUSE Wonder Pore skincare range, I am loving it! It caters to my skin concerns well, to make my pores smaller and control sebum in my skin. I like how my face feels clean and yet well moisturised, unlike other sebum control products that leaves my skin feeling tight and dry. All the products in the series are pleasing to use, as they absorb into our skin easily and are not sticky at all. My top 3 favourites are the foaming cleanser, freshner as well as balancing cream. Results-wise, I can't really gauge the size of my pores exactly, but my skin feels smoother and my make-up goes onto my face more evenly than before.
So, if you have the same problems as me - big and clogged pores, as well as oily skin - you might want to try out ETUDE HOUSE's Wonder Pore range. Their products are pocket friendly and effective; I believe you'll love them too! :D

Review: Esemtan Wash Lotion and Esemtan Skin Balm

Today's beauty review is not the usual "commercial" products that are packaged very prettily. Instead, I'll be talking about Esemtan skincare products by Schülke - namely their Wash Lotion as well as Skin Balm. Schülke products are often seen at medical centres and laboratories, being known for their disinfecting, hygiene and preservation purposes. So people who have dry and sensitive skin might wanna check this skincare range out! :)

Esemtan Wash Lotion

Esemtan Wash Lotion contains Allantoin, making it a pH neutral and soap free wash, usable for the whole body, face and hair. This makes it super convenient especially for travelling because we only have to bring 1 product instead of 3! Also, it is suitable for all skin types, even for the delicate skin of babies and elderly. It has a mild soothing fragrance and a delicate opalescent green color. (If you have sensitive skin and is worrying about the fragrance, rest assured that Esemtan had passed strict skin sensitivity tests and was approved by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) – a body dedicated to the safe use of fragrant chemicals, and essential oils in perfume and skincare.)
Shower: Can be used like soap or commercial shower lotions while taking shower
Hand washing: Approx. 2-3ml Esemtan wash lotion to one palm, froth it by adding some water. Wash thoroughly, rinse & dry.
My experience:
This wash lotion forms some bubbles upon mixing with water. I used it as a body wash. On my skin, it feels just right, clean and not too drying at the same time. It works well on my (normal) skin, no redness or any irritations after use. Also, it gets rinsed off pretty easily with a bit of water. It does not have the usual fruity or floral scent, but I feel that I smell really clean after using it hehe!

Esemtan Skin Balm

Esemtan skin balm provides the skin with oil and moisture, permeating deeply into the skin with oil-in water emulsion, supporting and caring for our skin to protect it from drying. It also contains urea, which is very good for moisturising and speeding up skin cell renewal. This product has been dermatologically tested and proven to help reduce skin irritation and itch. It is suitable for daily hand and body care for all skin types, even for those with sensitive or dry skin. Not to forget, Esemtan skin balm also comes with mild soothing fragrance, allowing users with dry & sensitive skin to enjoy a soothing touch of fragrance.
Apply and rub it gently to the back of one hand and spread it, first from one back to the other back of the hand and then also to the palms of the hands.
Recommended to use daily, morning and evening after each wash.
My experience:
I used this skin lotion after my bath with Esemtan Wash Lotion. To be honest, the lotion was pretty thick and takes quite some time to be completely absorbed into my skin. I would recommend users to use this lotion in small amount only so that lesser time is required for the lotion to be absorbed fully. Despite being difficult to be absorbed, it does not feel sticky once absorbed into my skin. The lotion does not irritate my skin, and I enjoyed the light, pleasant fragrance of the lotion that lingered on my skin.
Indeed, I agree that the packaging is a little dull and the pricing might be a little steep. If your skin is especially sensitive and this works well for you after trying it out, I believe it is an worthy investment. Also, the price is not that steep if you do some calculations, since their products actually come in bigger sizes of 500mL and 1L. However, I would prefer my shower gel to be in a pump bottle as it is pretty difficult to get my grip on such a huge bottle.
Where To Buy:
Guardian, Unity, Watsons, Independent pharmacy (Pink beauty, Beauty essential), NHG
Retail Price:
Esemtan Wash Lotion $19.75/500ml, $35.30/1L
