Consultation at Astique for Coolsculpting

Visited Astique Clinic at Shaw Tower few weeks ago! dsc08597_2 I was very excited to be there, since I have read many good reviews from Miyake's blog previously hehe! dsc08563_2 I consulted pretty Dr Celine Leong regarding slimming and body contouring, which is actually one of my biggest concerns. I have been putting on a lot of weight ever since I stopped cheerleading a couple of years back, and I am really flabby now. dsc08586_2 Dr Celine Leong is very knowledgeable and she was able to advise me on the different types of slimming methods available as well as what suits me better. I felt like I understand the different types of slimming methods better now, and I can't wait to try out what she recommended me! dsc08591_w I was introduced to Coolsculpting, which is kind of like fat-freezing, and this is supposedly good for smaller flabby areas. Dr Celine Leong brought me through the treatment process of Coolsculpting, and I decided to try out the treatment on my tummy. I was told that results on my tummy will be more visible, since it is a smaller area. If it works, I wanna do it on my thighs too!! dsc08595_2 Can't wait for my next appointment (in a few more days) to do the treatment. Stay tuned for my blog post on the treatment process! :)

Staycation at Corpthorne King's Hotel Singapore

I love staycations because a staycation is a like a mini holiday when I can't afford a real one overseas hahaha.. Have you read my previous staycation posts at Studio M Hotel as well as Pan Pacific Singapore? Today's post will be a short staycation post on Corpthorne King's Hotel Singapore. :) We picked this hotel because our friends recommended it to us after their stay, plus this hotel was pretty affordable on the Hotel Quickly app. We only paid $60ish for one weekend night, inclusive of buffet breakfast, after HQ's discount as well as some discount credits which I've earned. Crazy cheap for a 4-star hotel in Singapore yo! wpid-20150524_004728.jpg
A little more information about the HotelQuickly app... This hotel booking app offers pretty low prices, most of my friends use this for their staycations (and it is available in most countries FYI)! This app is for booking hotel rooms last minute (one or two days before), and each room is available at a lower price because of this. They have a best price guarantee, in which you'll get your money back if you find another site offering a better price, read up on this if you wish. Mid range hotels in Singapore typically costs over $200 in Singapore, but are available on the HQ app at around $100 plus, huge savings for us!! Furthermore, they have a credit scheme which allows you to earn credits really easily, and use those credits on your bookings. You'll know when you download the app haha. Anyway, just trust me and download this app if you are thinking of having a staycation! Used it numerous times and no problems so far. Also, here's S$25 credits to start you off on the app: key in "YCHOO4" at the Credits page under Options! (Credits applicable to people from other countries too, it will be automatically converted into your currency, I believe.)
Corpthorne King's Hotel Singapore is a 4-star hotel located at 403 Havelock Road, which is a walking distance to Chinatown. Actually, it is very near to Studio M Hotel, which means the location isn't too good and far away from MRT stations. However, Corpthorne King's Hotel has a busstop right outside, so it is still more convenient that Studio M Hotel anyway. wpid-20150523_150851.jpg We got a free upgrade to a Deluxe Room, instead of the usual Superior Room. The only difference is that Deluxe Room has a balcony while Superior Room doesn't. The hotel is pretty old, and renovated in 2005. You can tell that it is not new, but maintained fairly well. Rooms are small and clean, plus they do provide neccessities that you may need - toiletries, towels and drinking water. (Sorry, I forgot to snap a picture of the toiletries.) There's also an extra sofa, which can double as a bed for your friend or guest. Here's our room tour.. wpid-20150523_150700.jpg wpid-20150523_150722.jpg wpid-20150523_150708.jpg wpid-20150523_150750.jpg wpid-20150523_150805.jpg There's also a swimming pool and jacuzzi (our friends loved this because it is warm) at the hotel, which the BF had fun in while I napped at the poolside hehe. Sorry, no photos again because I forgot.. We went out for dinner at Mellben Legend Seafood, which is near Potong Pasir area. Been wanting to try them out since they are really popular and have good reviews online, so the BF bought their groupon deal and we decided to utilise it on this day. It was yummy hehe! We ordered a lot and spent a few hours trying to finish our food, opps. Will do a separate post about this in another blog post soon.. wpid-20150523_204634.jpg   wpid-makeup_20150526001105_save.jpg I really like staycations because once we reach the hotel, the only thing we're supposed to do is to relax and play. Its like being a tourist for one day! With the BF, we usually use the hotel facilities or go out for movie / shopping, have a nice dinner and head back to the hotel to "nua" our night away. We will usually play monopoly deal because even 2 players can play it haha! I also brought my favourite Royce Potato Chip Chocolate in Caramel along for this trip hehe! wpid-20150524_004728.jpg Can't wait for more staycations! :) Other staycation reviews:

ETUDE HOUSE Lash Perm Curl-Fix Mascara Review

My sister had her 21st birthday party in the weekends at D'resort Rainforest Premier Suite (omg the suite was huge), so I took the chance to doll myself (and my sister) up in my new makeup from ETUDE HOUSE! img_0810_2 Here are some of the new products that I used that day, apart from my all-time favourite ETUDE HOUSE Precious Mineral Any Cushion..
  • ETUDE HOUSE Lash Perm Curl-Fix Mascara in Black
  • ETUDE HOUSE Bling Me Prism Eyes in #03 Darling Heart
  • ETUDE HOUSE Bling Me Prism Color in Liquid Lips in RD303
20150908_211611 I only used ETUDE HOUSE make up on my face that day, and I created a new look! For my eye make up, I had no eyelash extensions on and I did not use my eyeliners at all, just liquid eye shadow and two coats of mascara. I also finished the whole look with bright red lips! img_0771_2 ribbondivider Anyway, today's focus will be on ETUDE HOUSE Lash Perm Curl-Fix Mascara, which is my number 1 favourite at the moment! img_0830_2 I am someone with short and straight eyelashes, and mascaras don't really work for me. I kind of gave up on mascaras and have been doing eyelash extensions for the past 1 year. As such, I had zero expectations for this mascara initially. I even told my blog manager that I don't think I can blog about this mascara because my lashes are too short to be curled and too short to be visible in the photo, but she said, "Try first," and so I did. Guess what, this has got to be the best mascara I've ever tried! 20150908_211835 ETUDE HOUSE Lash Perm Curl-Fix Mascara formula features the lauded ETUDE Curl 24HR Technology TM, which allows our lashes to be kept curled for up to 24 hours! It is super resistant to water, sweat and sebum. Also, the new formula is really lightweight, hence it will not weigh our lashes down. It is able to coat my lashes in thinly and evenly without much clumping. img_0820_2 ETUDE HOUSE Lash Perm Curl-Fix Mascara is the World’s First Dual Jelly Brush mascara. The special jelly material has been specially designed for Asian eyes, and the key highlights of the dual jelly brush are: clean finish, thorough application and irritant-free materials. The 18mm brush is sized perfectly, and it has a special arch to pick up the right amount of mascara formula for application. The 0.2mm ultra fine bristles were carefully positioned to ensure thorough application, such that ALL lashes will be coated evenly to achieve optimal curling and volumising. Lastly, ths mascara brush is made of special soft jelly material which does not irritate our eye area which is pretty senstive, and is even gentle enough for application of the formula on the waterline of your eyes. 20150908_212020

BEFORE:

Here is my bare eye without any make up. My lashes are less than half a centimeter FYI. 20150830_210524_2

AFTER:

Here are my lashes after curling with an eyelash curler and two coats of ETUDE HOUSE Lash Perm Curl-Fix Mascara! I can't believe my eyes when I saw that my lashes are VISIBLE from a short distance away! img_0835_2cut This was taken by my phone's front camera, this is the first time my eyelashes (without eyelash extensions) can be captured by my phone's front camera! AMAZING!!! 20150905_170530_3

PERSONAL REVIEW:

I wasn't exaggerating when I said that this is my number 1 favourite mascara now. It is easy to apply, dries pretty quickly after application, as well as feels very lightweight and comfortable on my lashes. It has super strong curling power as you can see from my photos, my lashes were all curled up very nicely and they stayed curled up all day long. Even after being out for a whole day, my lashes were as curly as they were in the morning, not a single bit droopy! Also, since I have short lashes, I was happy to see a substantial lengthening effect on applying a second coat of mascara on my lashes. This mascara is also 100% waterproof, there were ZERO smudges on my undereye area after being out for more than 12 hours. This has never happened before for all my previous mascaras as they all tend to leave some smudges at the outer corners of my eyes especially. I am confident enough to wear this to swim. (Will update again if I do so.) However, as much as it is waterproof, it is a must to use waterproof eye make up remover (those micellar water will not work at all) and a little patience when removing the mascara, because it is not healthy to have residual mascara on your lashes when you go to bed. img_0836_2 ETUDE HOUSE Lash Perm Curl-Fix Mascara (Price/Vol: $24.90/8g) is available in four colours: #1 Black, #2 Brown (Limited Edition), #3 Plum Burgundy (Limited Edition) and #4 Pink (Limited Edition). The black one will be available at all ETUDE HOUSE Singapore stores, and the other 3 limited edition ones will be available exclusively at ETUDE HOUSE Wisma Atria from September 2015 onwards. img_0773_2     Connect with ETUDE HOUSE Website: www.etude.sg Facebook: www.facebook.com/etude.sing Instagram: @ETUDEHOUSESINGAPORE

Skyline Luge Sentosa – 10th Birthday!

Guess where we went last last Saturday? S E N T O S A !!! A day of fun hehehe :D The sun was shining so brightly that we can't open our eyes for a proper selfie, oppsies.. wpid-makeup_20150902222926_save-1.jpg More specifically, we were there for the 10th birthday party of the Skyline Luge Sentosa!! Yes, this ride has been at sentosa for the past 10 years, and it acheived its 10 millionth - ride just last November. I took this ride once when I was in secondary school, and I was thrilled to be able to come again, with the boyfriend this time round! We took the Sentosa Express from VivoCity and alighted at the beach station.. This attraction is located at Siloso Beach, about 10 minutes away from the station. wpid-20150822_123257.jpg To our delight, we were treated to unlimited Skyline and Luge rides, that comes with VIP benefits, so we don't have to queue for too long in the crazy hot weather! wpid-20150822_124156.jpg The Skyline Luge Sentosa attraction can be split into 2 sections - Skyride and Luge ride. I recommend both because it is fun and you will return to the original spot for convenience's sake haha. Helmets will be provided to keep you safe! wpid-makeup_20150902222547_save_mr1441204378539.jpg

Skyride

Firstly, we took the Skyride from the beach. It is kind of like an open-air cable car (they call it a chairlift), but we get to dangle our legs in the air and it is so fun!! I couldn't stop selfie-ing when I got up wahaha. Apart from that, we get a full view of the scenery around us, and it ferries us to the starting point of the Luge ride. Perfect! My only fear was that my flip flops may fall off my feet haha.. Maybe I should have worn sandals instead! If you are afraid of heights, you might not enjoy this ride as much.. But do bear with it because it takes you to the starting point of the Luge ride which is super fun! Rest assured that they have taken safety precautions and locked the seat so that you will not fall off the ride.. wpid-makeup_20150822122045_save_mr1440217504872.jpg wpid-20150822_120109.jpg wpid-20150822_120321.jpg

Luge ride

It is a must to wear the helmets provided when taking the Luge ride! I noticed that the staffs also make it a point to check if your luge is fully functional at the start of each and every ride, testing the brakes, as well as turning left and right. So please be patient while queueing because they are actually doing checks to ensure everyone's safety! wpid-makeup_20150902222436_save.jpg The luge is an unique wheeled gravity ride that allows us complete control over the ride, be it the speed or the direction. The tracks are slightly angled for the luge to be able to move! I was quite "chicken" at first and went really slowly, so the BF had to ride slowly with me too.. Many kids who were riding alone happily sped past us and I was a little embarrassed haha! We love this ride, it is super fun when I became less afraid after my first ride and sped down the tracks! :) There are actually 2 different trails for the tracks - Jungle Trail (650m) and Dragon Trail (688m). To be honest, both are fun but they are only a little different to me in terms of the bends, but this is also good as it prevents overcrowding. If you only have 1 ticket for this ride, take the Dragon Trail since is it longer hehe! Please note that for the luge ride, there is a minimum age and height for kids: Children must be 6 years old and 110cm tall to ride the Luge alone. Children under the age of 6 years old (minimum 85cm to below 110cm) can ride the Luge in tandem, with an adult by purchasing the child doubling ticket. We weren't allowed to take pictures at the starting point of the Luge ride as we might hold up the queue, so we stopped for photos when there were nobody near us on the tracks hehe.. wpid-makeup_20150902223019_save.jpg wpid-makeup_20150902224217_save.jpg HAPPY BIRTHDAY again & thank you for having us for your 10th birthday!!:D We had lots and lots of fun that day! I think we took both rides 4 times in total despite the crazy hot sun at noon, and then we gave up because we were literally melting into sweat puddles.. Oh, you might want to consider taking this ride at night to avoid the sweltering hot weather in Singapore too. I read that it is a totally difference experience when you visit the Skyline Luge Ride at night! Maybe I should visit them at night again another day.. wpid-makeup_20150902222748_save.jpg Here are the prices that I obtained from their website if you are interested..
