Skyline Luge Sentosa – 10th Birthday!

Guess where we went last last Saturday? S E N T O S A !!! A day of fun hehehe :D The sun was shining so brightly that we can't open our eyes for a proper selfie, oppsies.. wpid-makeup_20150902222926_save-1.jpg More specifically, we were there for the 10th birthday party of the Skyline Luge Sentosa!! Yes, this ride has been at sentosa for the past 10 years, and it acheived its 10 millionth - ride just last November. I took this ride once when I was in secondary school, and I was thrilled to be able to come again, with the boyfriend this time round! We took the Sentosa Express from VivoCity and alighted at the beach station.. This attraction is located at Siloso Beach, about 10 minutes away from the station. wpid-20150822_123257.jpg To our delight, we were treated to unlimited Skyline and Luge rides, that comes with VIP benefits, so we don't have to queue for too long in the crazy hot weather! wpid-20150822_124156.jpg The Skyline Luge Sentosa attraction can be split into 2 sections - Skyride and Luge ride. I recommend both because it is fun and you will return to the original spot for convenience's sake haha. Helmets will be provided to keep you safe! wpid-makeup_20150902222547_save_mr1441204378539.jpg

Skyride

Firstly, we took the Skyride from the beach. It is kind of like an open-air cable car (they call it a chairlift), but we get to dangle our legs in the air and it is so fun!! I couldn't stop selfie-ing when I got up wahaha. Apart from that, we get a full view of the scenery around us, and it ferries us to the starting point of the Luge ride. Perfect! My only fear was that my flip flops may fall off my feet haha.. Maybe I should have worn sandals instead! If you are afraid of heights, you might not enjoy this ride as much.. But do bear with it because it takes you to the starting point of the Luge ride which is super fun! Rest assured that they have taken safety precautions and locked the seat so that you will not fall off the ride.. wpid-makeup_20150822122045_save_mr1440217504872.jpg wpid-20150822_120109.jpg wpid-20150822_120321.jpg

Luge ride

It is a must to wear the helmets provided when taking the Luge ride! I noticed that the staffs also make it a point to check if your luge is fully functional at the start of each and every ride, testing the brakes, as well as turning left and right. So please be patient while queueing because they are actually doing checks to ensure everyone's safety! wpid-makeup_20150902222436_save.jpg The luge is an unique wheeled gravity ride that allows us complete control over the ride, be it the speed or the direction. The tracks are slightly angled for the luge to be able to move! I was quite "chicken" at first and went really slowly, so the BF had to ride slowly with me too.. Many kids who were riding alone happily sped past us and I was a little embarrassed haha! We love this ride, it is super fun when I became less afraid after my first ride and sped down the tracks! :) There are actually 2 different trails for the tracks - Jungle Trail (650m) and Dragon Trail (688m). To be honest, both are fun but they are only a little different to me in terms of the bends, but this is also good as it prevents overcrowding. If you only have 1 ticket for this ride, take the Dragon Trail since is it longer hehe! Please note that for the luge ride, there is a minimum age and height for kids: Children must be 6 years old and 110cm tall to ride the Luge alone. Children under the age of 6 years old (minimum 85cm to below 110cm) can ride the Luge in tandem, with an adult by purchasing the child doubling ticket. We weren't allowed to take pictures at the starting point of the Luge ride as we might hold up the queue, so we stopped for photos when there were nobody near us on the tracks hehe.. wpid-makeup_20150902223019_save.jpg wpid-makeup_20150902224217_save.jpg HAPPY BIRTHDAY again & thank you for having us for your 10th birthday!!:D We had lots and lots of fun that day! I think we took both rides 4 times in total despite the crazy hot sun at noon, and then we gave up because we were literally melting into sweat puddles.. Oh, you might want to consider taking this ride at night to avoid the sweltering hot weather in Singapore too. I read that it is a totally difference experience when you visit the Skyline Luge Ride at night! Maybe I should visit them at night again another day.. wpid-makeup_20150902222748_save.jpg Here are the prices that I obtained from their website if you are interested..
