Staycation at Corpthorne King's Hotel Singapore

I love staycations because a staycation is a like a mini holiday when I can't afford a real one overseas hahaha.. Have you read my previous staycation posts at Studio M Hotel as well as Pan Pacific Singapore? Today's post will be a short staycation post on Corpthorne King's Hotel Singapore. :) We picked this hotel because our friends recommended it to us after their stay, plus this hotel was pretty affordable on the Hotel Quickly app. We only paid $60ish for one weekend night, inclusive of buffet breakfast, after HQ's discount as well as some discount credits which I've earned. Crazy cheap for a 4-star hotel in Singapore yo! wpid-20150524_004728.jpg
A little more information about the HotelQuickly app... This hotel booking app offers pretty low prices, most of my friends use this for their staycations (and it is available in most countries FYI)! This app is for booking hotel rooms last minute (one or two days before), and each room is available at a lower price because of this. They have a best price guarantee, in which you'll get your money back if you find another site offering a better price, read up on this if you wish. Mid range hotels in Singapore typically costs over $200 in Singapore, but are available on the HQ app at around $100 plus, huge savings for us!! Furthermore, they have a credit scheme which allows you to earn credits really easily, and use those credits on your bookings. You'll know when you download the app haha. Anyway, just trust me and download this app if you are thinking of having a staycation! Used it numerous times and no problems so far. Also, here's S$25 credits to start you off on the app: key in "YCHOO4" at the Credits page under Options! (Credits applicable to people from other countries too, it will be automatically converted into your currency, I believe.)
Corpthorne King's Hotel Singapore is a 4-star hotel located at 403 Havelock Road, which is a walking distance to Chinatown. Actually, it is very near to Studio M Hotel, which means the location isn't too good and far away from MRT stations. However, Corpthorne King's Hotel has a busstop right outside, so it is still more convenient that Studio M Hotel anyway. wpid-20150523_150851.jpg We got a free upgrade to a Deluxe Room, instead of the usual Superior Room. The only difference is that Deluxe Room has a balcony while Superior Room doesn't. The hotel is pretty old, and renovated in 2005. You can tell that it is not new, but maintained fairly well. Rooms are small and clean, plus they do provide neccessities that you may need - toiletries, towels and drinking water. (Sorry, I forgot to snap a picture of the toiletries.) There's also an extra sofa, which can double as a bed for your friend or guest. Here's our room tour.. wpid-20150523_150700.jpg wpid-20150523_150722.jpg wpid-20150523_150708.jpg wpid-20150523_150750.jpg wpid-20150523_150805.jpg There's also a swimming pool and jacuzzi (our friends loved this because it is warm) at the hotel, which the BF had fun in while I napped at the poolside hehe. Sorry, no photos again because I forgot.. We went out for dinner at Mellben Legend Seafood, which is near Potong Pasir area. Been wanting to try them out since they are really popular and have good reviews online, so the BF bought their groupon deal and we decided to utilise it on this day. It was yummy hehe! We ordered a lot and spent a few hours trying to finish our food, opps. Will do a separate post about this in another blog post soon.. wpid-20150523_204634.jpg   wpid-makeup_20150526001105_save.jpg I really like staycations because once we reach the hotel, the only thing we're supposed to do is to relax and play. Its like being a tourist for one day! With the BF, we usually use the hotel facilities or go out for movie / shopping, have a nice dinner and head back to the hotel to "nua" our night away. We will usually play monopoly deal because even 2 players can play it haha! I also brought my favourite Royce Potato Chip Chocolate in Caramel along for this trip hehe! wpid-20150524_004728.jpg Can't wait for more staycations! :) Other staycation reviews:
