Avalon™ Stem Cell Beauty Drink Review

[sponsored] I am reaching my late twenties soon, and I can definitely notice the effects of aging on my skin - especially enlarged pores and dry skin. Being a lazy girl, I seldom apply skincare, and when I do, there seem to be not much of a difference. Meh. Got to learn that maintaining healthy skin cells is fundamental to having good skin; to fully benefit from any skincare or even beauty supplements, it is important to have healthy skin cells to fully absorb and locks in the skin beneficial nutrients. I guess my skin cells are not too healthy, but thankfully there are stem cells beauty drinks in the market to help us from within (our body). Today's feature is Avalon™ Stem Cell Beauty Drink, which is the first beauty drink in Singapore that contains Young Orchid Stem Cells. Orchid Stem Cell is a powerful antioxidant and possesses strong anti-inflammatory properties, particularly young orchid stem cells protect the skin from environmental damages while hydrating and renewing our skin cells thus making it an excellent youth revitaliser which works on almost all skin types. In addition, it is enhanced with Litchi Seed Extract, Premium French Marine Collagen and a combination of Fruit Extracts, and it can help to resolve 6 skin problems when taken together, 6-in-1 yay! Product benefits: - Repair and rejuvenate damaged skin cells - Hydrate dry skin - Brightens dull skin - Tighten pores - Tigthen sagging skin - Reduce appearance of wrinkles and fine lines It claims that you can feel your skin being more supple and hydrated in 7 days, and in 28 days (Our skin renews itself every 28 days) you can see your skin tone brightens up looking more radiant, pores appears to be tighter, wrinkles and fine lines will also look lighter now that your skin is more supple. I am a picky person when it comes to food and drinks, and I must say the Avalon™ Stem Cell Beauty Drink tasted a lot better than what I've expected. I've tried other beauty drinks in the market that tasted like medicine and have thick gooey texture, but this is different! Avalon™ Stem Cell Beauty Drink is actually made with Sparkling Water, which makes it pretty refreshing. I also learnt that sparkling water actually helps to boost nutrients absorption and promotes skin metabolism, totally didn't expect sparkling water to have any benefits! Taste-wise, this tasted a lot better than the other drinks beauty drinks that I've tried so far and I can finish the whole bottle without cringing; but I'd still prefer drinking my favourite teh ping, bubble tea or milkshake over this la... I can't comment on the effects yet, but I am dilligently trying to repair and renew my skin cells. Let's all take care of our skin from within too! :) AVALON ™ Stem Cell Beauty Drink retails at only $69.90 for a box of 10 and is available at Watsons, Unity Pharmacy, ALT, OG, Robinsons, Yue Hwa & You can get 20% OFF by entering code TSS-20OFF at checkout on only for purchase online HERE.

OOTD: Off-Shoulder Striped Romper x Zaful

I seldom do outfit posts, and here is one! So, with that off-shoulder trend going on some time back, I decided to get the&nbsp;<a href="">off-shoulder stripe romper</a>&nbsp;from Zaful.&nbsp;

I love rompers, partially because I don't have to think of how to match my top and bottoms, so this is good for me haha. It comes in blue stripes which looks very comfy (think banana in pyjamas); indeed, this piece is pretty light and airy. It comes with a drawstring waistband which I can adjust to my own comfort.&nbsp;

Perfect for a casual weekend date xx

Casio ZR5000 x Craftholic Pop-Up Cafe

{{This is a non-sponsored post, all photos in this blog post (except for the first and last image) are taken with Casio ZR5000 and are not edited.}}

So... Following a camera workshop, the kind folks from Casio and My Fat Pocket allowed me to bring home and play around with their new Casio ZR5000 for two weeks! Picked the green (mint) beauty to bring home, and decided to bring it out when I go cafehopping with the BF at Craftholic Pop-Up Cafe!!

I have always dreamt of having a Casio camera.. If you don't know, Casio is very very very popular for their selfie cameras, which might also be known as the Casio Exilim TR series aka 自拍神器. (It was always sold out when I wanted to buy it in the past). The make up mode of this series is really good, many of my blogger friends use this camera, and there is no need for editing at all - flawless skin that is milky smooth and pinkish! The newer series also has this beautifying tan mode, for those who prefer the sporty look..

Guess what, I heard that the new ZR5000 also has the same beauty mode as the TR series as well as a 180 degrees flip screen for selfies! Girls who love taking selfies will know that the postioning of the shutter button is very important since we'll be having our arms extended at a distance just to take a proper selfie.. One of my favourite thing about this camera is the additional front shutter button just below the lens, which is so so so convenient for selfies. On top of that, it is packed with a number of other functions and at like half the price of the TR series.. I have only tested out some common and more general functions of the camera during the weekends, there are just too many functions that I have yet to try! Also, this camera is very lightweight, the size and functions make it perfect for travelling.

The first ever Craftholic Pop-Up Cafe outside Japan is right here in Singapore at Kki Sweets, which is located at School of the Arts (SOTA) near Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station. They are usually a cake shop, and from 17 September 2016 to 13 November 2016, they are selling edible craftholic food and desserts. Soooooooooo cute please!! Woke up early on a Sunday morning just to come to this cafe! We reached at about 12pm (it opens at 11.30am) and there was already a queue, about 10 groups of people in front of us. The cafe was full and most tables were waiting for their food...

Wefie while waiting... See, I really love the make up mode of this Casio ZR5000, it gives us milky skin hehe! For the make up mode, there are 2 settings to use, one for skin tone (tan to light) and one for smooth skin, 12 levels to choose from for each setting. I used a moderate light tone and standard smooth skin settings for most of my photos..

[Tip: I'll recommend you to come before 11.30am and be the first batch of people to enter the cafe. They are really slow in preparing the food and facilitating the crowd. After more than an hour, when I was first in the queue, there was an empty table for 2 and they only seated us after 15 minutes.] Realised I forgot to snap a photo of the menu, here is a photo grabbed from mitsueki's blog. Craftholic members get 10% off, so please remember to bring along your card if you are a member! (I'm not, so no discount for me, boo hoo..)

The counter... We decided on what we want while queueing and placed our order once we entered the cafe. We wanted to order quite a number dishes initially, but I got annoyed with the wait outside the cafe and we ended up ordering 2 mains and a cake only. [Tip: please order your food once you enter the cafe, before going around to explore and take photos.. Our food took another 45 mins to 1 hour to be served.]

 Went around to explore the small cafe and to take photos of the craftholics decor.. The whole place is really quite cute, craftholic fans will love it! They also have some craftholic merchandise for sale, if you're interested~ I also tested out some filters of the Casio ZR5000 along the way.. To be fair, the cafe was quite dim, so I think the camera did well even though the lighting was not good!

Took this photo and transferred it to my phone via the wifi function, this is my phone's new wallpaper by the way. The Casio ZR5000 has this wifi feature that allows us to transfer the photos from the camera to the phone, super convenient! I don't have to insert the memory card into my laptop to access the photos. The usual me would have also uploaded these photos onto social media, but I wanted to keep this post about the Craftholic cafe as a surprise so I did not post any photo on instagram that day..  Oh, there is also another function that allows us to connect our phones to the camera to act as a remote controller, super cool please! I would have done a DIY graduation shoot with the BF if I have a camera with this phone remote function...  cimg0115_2 cimg0097 cimg0096 cimg0093 cimg0113_2 cimg0092 {Using Art Shot: Miniature} This mode might be useful for travelling especially, when you take photos of sceneries.. cimg0087 {Using Art Shot: Soft Focus} I love this soft focus mode, it has a dreamy look which is sooo pretty~ cimg0085 {Using Art Shot: Sparkling Shot} Wah I love this filter! It detects light and make each light into a sparkle... If I own this camera, I will go crazy happy taking photos of christmas lights!! So pretty~~~ cimg0088 {Using Art Shot: Pop} This filter is more for  fun and it makes colors like pink, orange and green looks more neon than ever.. cimg0090 {Using Art Shot: Crystal Ball} See those cuties in the ball :) i like the monkey! cimg0095 Another craftholic that is bigger than us again! cimg0107 And then... the food arrived!! Garlic Aioli Roast Chicken Sandwich served with truffle potato chips and japanese ice green tea (S$16.80) The Sandwich is shaped like a craftholic, how cute! As this dish came earlier than the other main and the cake, it was left on the table for quite some time as I wanted a photo of all dished before we start eating, and I have no idea if the chicken is supposed to be cold or at room temperature, opps. Taste was pretty alright, the aioli flavor and truffle flavor was minimal though.  cimg0120 Me and my cutest meal ever! (Pssst, see those envious people queueing outside..) cimg0152 Beef Stew with Butter Rice served with sloth tortilla chip and japanese iced green tea (S$16.80) Another cute dish with bear-shaped rice! I can't taste the butter in the rice but the stew was quite alright. I don't take beef so I only had the sauce, carrot and rice. The BF said that it tasted not bad as well! cimg0142 The BF was super hungry already but he have to wait for the cake to arrive for my photo before he can start on his food hehe.. #woesofbeingablogger'sBF cimg0148_2 Singapore Flavor: Pandan Souffle Cheesecake (S$7.80) This does not taste like a cheesecake at all. Ordered this thinking that it will be good since Kki is usually a cake shop.  I am not a pandan fan usually, but the super lightweight souffle flavor was refreshing to the tastebuds. Still, I don't think I can finish this alone and I won't order this again. Why don't they serve normal cheesecakes instead... Suggest that you try other desserts if you are not a fan of pandan.. cimg0154 Didn't have much expectation for the food before coming here as it seems like the public perception of food served at character cafes are only for the eyes, and won't taste as good. I guess the two mains at this craftholic cafe can't go wrong, and they tasted quite okay. The only downside was the long waiting time and small portion. Expected damage is $20-30 per pax and 3 hours.  cimg0156 Last wefie before we start on our meal! And last thing about the camera... The super wide angle 19mm lens! Did you notice that the selfies/wefies can capture more details than my usual photos? I was pretty impressed with the details captured in this shot especially, I can never get a proper wefie during meals if I were to use my phone or old camera and my short arm.. This is really the perfect camera for me, ahh~~ cimg0161  So that's the end of my trip to Craftholic Pop-Up Cafe with the BF and the Casio ZR5000! I hope you enjoyed the post and cute photos! :) 20160925_141657 Casio ZR5000 Black - $699 (limited color) Pink, Green & White - $629 All cameras come with a 16GB SD Card + Camera Case. My First Visit to Nails & Relax

Gosh, it has been months since I last did my nails.. I think the last time was for Chinese New Year? Last weekend, I spent an afternoon at Nails & Relax to get my nails done! As you can tell from their name, Nails & Relax aims to provide a relaxing environment for us girls to have our nails done, and they take pride in providing the highest level of hygiene for their services. They are a new shop located at Balestier, which is about 2 bus stops away from Novena MRT station. They are located at One Dunsun Shoppes, which is a new mall in the area. If I am not wrong, they are the first shop that started operating there. The shop is pretty cozy and I love those full length windows!! Their selection of high quality gel nail polish from korea.. The manicure area.. I was given this tea menu once I was seated, and my choice was Camomile, Lime Flowers & Lavendar. ;) It is so sweet of them to provide these beverage options; I believe that these teas can help with relaxation and I definitely don't mind having a drink since doing manicure or pedicure will take minimally an hour. *bonus point even before they start on my nails* Looking through some of their nail designs.. They started doing my nails as I took time to decide on the color and design that I want. I know that some girls are afraid to cut your cuticles, but my manicurist was really gentle and there was no pain at all. Anyway, my manicurist was Yana, (although Nails & Relax is new) this is not my first time doing my nails with her! To be honest, she is one of the best manicurist that I have met so far. She remembers my preferences even though it has been some time since I did my nails with her. I decided on a pastel color japanese nail design that I found online and Yana did a little customisation for me because my nails size should not be overloaded with blings. TADA~~ I LOVE THE RESULTS! I have received quite a lot of compliments for my nails, thank you Nails & Relax! Just to add on, it is really important for a nail saloon to have experienced staffs. I have experienced doing my nails with unexperienced manicurists who can't deliver the design that I want. Imagine sitting there for 1.5 to 2 hours and paying over $50 to get badly done nails... And imagine living with that set of gel manicure for a month... (or nails peeling off in less than 3 weeks...) I am really pleased that Yana can deliver and customise my nails design! Look at this set, so sweet looking right? A few more shots of my pretty nails against other backgrounds...

Ah Bong's Italian

If you don't know, one of our hobby is to explore cafes and new eateries! So a mini update about somewhere that we've explored recently.. Pssst, I finally got a new phone so I can finally take more proper photos to update my blog and instagram more. I've just gotten my 7th Samsung phone ever - Samsung Galaxy S7 in pink gold - last month! :) :) Decided to visit Ah Bong's Italian last Sunday because I am a pasta lover and I have been following them on instagram for quite some time.. They are pretty cool in a way because their menu vary everyday and you can check their menu on instagram before heading down if you wish... Oh, I found out that they have 2 outlets, and the new outlet is pretty convenient for me, it is located near Bugis! The Bugis outlet is open daily while the other outlet (at Tiong Bahru I think?) is closed on Sundays.. Since it was a Sunday (and even if it was not a Sunday haha), we headed down to the outlet at Bugis aka Tan Quee Lan street! It is actually less than 5 mins away from Bugis MRT Downtown line's exit, but we exited at Bugis Junction so we took a little more time to find our way. I expected a crowd when I arrived at 12.30pm but there were only two groups of people there... (More groups of people came in as I was having my food, maybe people wake up later on Sundays...)The staff were pretty friendly, they will try to allocate you a seat and you can place your order and make payment at the counter when you have decided on the food. This was the menu for the day.. There were some other sides like chicken wings, truffle fries, baked eggs and creme brulee if I didn't remember wrongly.. To be honest, I was a little disappointed because I was attracted to their truffle and cream based pasta which were on the menu for other days. It is okay, I love prawns and crab too.. So we ordered both spicy prawn and crabby aglio olio, as well as duck fat truffle fries and we got a free canned drink. As we can't really take spicy food, we asked for both pastas to be non-spicy and they accomodated to our request readily. The food took quite some time to be ready, over 10 minutes I think, despite the fact that only a couple was waiting for their food before us. Close up of the food... Oh ya, the pastas are served in the traditional chicken plates, which are kind of cute haha... Personally, I find that this gives off a very homely feel! Duck fat truffle fries: I can't taste the 'duck fat' so it tasted pretty much like any other french fries.. (I believe we are not supposed to taste any ducky-ness right, if not that might be weird...) I could taste a hint of truffle but it was not too strong, would prefer it to have more truffle flavour... Spicy prawn (non-spicy version): This non-spicy version tasted pretty plain, I guess it is because of my 'special request' so I can't judge this dish well. The prawns tasted quite fresh and they weren't stingy with the seafood, yay for that! Crabby aglio olio (non-spicy version): This tasted pretty plain as well, just like the above but with a hint of garlic. They used fresh crab (not crabsticks) and were pretty generous with the crab, double yay! If you look closely, you can see that there is a full crab leg inside FYI.. Overall, the food at ABT was not too bad but I had very high expectations after reading all the good reviews online so I was a teeny bit disappointed. To be fair, the food might have tasted plain since we asked for the mains to be non-spicy.. Nevertheless, I will be heading back again and I will check the menu before heading down next time! I am targetting the truffle dishes or the mac and cheese heh heh.. AH BONG'S ITALIAN Instagram : @ahbongsitalian 103 beach road, #01-02
