Nivea's UV Camera Activation

I got caught for not applying sunscreen to my full face last weekend! Guess which areas did I leave out? IMG_7889 If your guess is the top of my forehead and my eye area, you got it right! Do you apply sunscreen daily? Many people are unaware that sun protection is one of the most important step in your skincare regime. Personally, I only started on using sunscreen daily after visiting a dermatologist a couple of years back and got to learn about the harmful effects of the sun. In addition, as I am quite fair, I get pigmentations and dark spots easily which I really hate, hence the motivation to start on my daily sun protection. You should do so too! Was invited to Nivea's UV camera activitation at Ngee Ann City's Watsons in the weekends, and I got to try out the really cool UV camera along with Nivea's new and improved sunscreen! P1230467 - Copy The UV camera can actually detect sunscreen, which is the greyish stuff on my face and the black smiley on my hand. It can show how much your sunscreen act as a shield against the sun's harmful UV rays. The darker the sunscreen appear in the UV camera, the more protection you've got. As you can see, the smiley face that I drew on my hand with Nivea Protect & Moisture Sun Lotion SPF 50 PA++ appears jet black in the photo on the right. I was pretty glad that my daily sunscreen can be picked up by the UV camera as my face appears slightly greyish in the photo. However, that also means I might not be getting enough protection from the sun all along :( P1230469 - Copy Had quite a bit of fun taking UV photos with my girls.. K and T were laughing at me because I left out my eye area and the top of my forehead, oppsies! (sidenote: I look very bad with dark skin omg) IMG_7872 Went home with a couple of relaunched Nivea sunscreens after the event, read more below :) IMG-20160725-WA0017 Nivea's sunscreens promise ultimate protection for our skin. Both Nivea Protect & Moisture Sun Lotion SPF 50 PA ++ (blue) as well as Nivea Protect & White Lotion SPF 50 PA ++ (white) offers immediate sun protection and moisturisation benefits in one product, you can skip your body lotion with these lotions! The blue bottle provides additional hydration benefits ad offers collagen protection, while the white bottle can help to reduce skin pigmentation and dark spots, I seriously need both of them~ Both sunscreens have a thick, white creamy texture which feels pretty heavy, especially at the start as it took some time for the sunscreens to be absorbed into my skin. Nivea's sunscreens are said to be non-sticky and water resistant, but I personally felt that they are a little stickier compared to my current daily sunscreen. However, the stickiness is minimal and I am definitely fine with using it on my body especially when it can offer me good sun protection! :) IMG_7878 Both sunscreens are available at Guardian, Watsons, Cold Storage, NTUC Fairprice outlets and other major retail stores in 125ml and 50ml (travel-sized).
